Plugwise Homeseer Plugin

Post by Rene »

@Wifi: Thanks, but it all comes for free;-) However, I would love Plugwise to send a small donation in the form of an additional set including a circle+ and usb stick so I can start developing a plugin that bypasses the software and communicates directly to the Plugwise hardware.

@All: Any others that experience strange or different behaviour after having upgraded from version 2.0.66 to 2.3.0.x?

@Chak: That problem with the buttons in Rover is a bug in Rover. I already determined what the problem is. I will try to find a fix and report it to it's maintainer.

<br />I did a clean install of WindowsXP, .Net Framework 2.0 and HS 2.3.0.0 and known Homeseer is acting the same as on my development system. This means buttons are hidden when state changes are blocked and you are returned to the status screen when you hit the save button in the device configuration screen. The upgrade from 2.0.66 to 2.3.0.0 seems to mess up things. I will raise this issue at Homeseer. For the time being I do not know how to resolve this problem other than a fresh installation of Homeseer.

I have this problem with all my devices, except the devices created and controlled by the RFXCOM plugin. See all of my lugins in my signature.

I will ask Bert what he did different then others...

By the way, this does not solve the problem with the "Block state changes" button. So this is related to something else.

This is how I make toggle available in HSTouch using BLmapper.

It works fine for now.

Rien,

Does the new RFXCom plugin also fix the not disappearing buttons for Plugwise devices?

@Bert: Can I have the link to the beta version of your plugin also? I am wondering if this would solve other strange behaviour I notice.

So on your fresh installation, the buttons do not disappear when you block state changes for a specific device? Even when hitting F5 to refresh the screen?

No The problem with the device screen save button is solved and I hoped this was related to the plugwise buttons, but it's not.
At the moment I don't have a test system with the plugwise source software and the plugin available. I hope I can install it today ??

For testing, do I need the plugwise source software and the USB stick installed or can I just install the plugin ??

I did some more testing on this hidden on/off button issue.

It has definatly something to do with the RFXCOM plug-in. Good News is. Now it's working.... (for me at least)
We did I do:
- Installed the new beta software of RFXCOM (the plugin), You can also disable the plugin to get things working.
- Restart Homeseer
And voila, now it's working

One extra comment if you allready had checked "Block state changes"(before the new RFXCOM plug-in install). you first have to uncheck it, save it, check it again and save it again.

Good luck all,
Ruud
