Problems with Gateway mode after updating to V6.6

Post by mrFarmer »

Hi,

I just updated my OTGW (Nodo LAN version) from V6.4 to V6.6 and now I get nothing other than Error 01 messages in gateway mode. In monitor mode it does work, but I loose my control options I use in my home automation's. I just noticed that also the burner stats (start & hours) are no longer showing. All a reporting 0 now.

I have a Honeywell thermostat and Nefit boiler. The thermostat looses connection when running in gateway mode. It all was just working fine before to upgrade. Looking over the support pages I could not find out why it will no longer work in gateway mode. I tried turning the OTGW off and on again, but no luck.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction, or can get me the 6.4 firmware again if a downgrade is an option.

Here is a bit of the log in otmonitor the moment it switches to gateway mode:

Old versions of the firmware are still available to be downloaded by specifying their version number, e.g.: gateway-6.4.hex.

However, error 01 indicates that the OTGW detected rapid level changes. This happens if your equipment doesn't provide a clean opentherm signal. The OTGW can be configured to ignore such events by specifying IT=1. But that is the default. So you must have manually activated the detection. You can check with the PR=T command. That reports two digits. The first one should normally be a '1'.

Hi Schelte,
Thanks for you quick reply. The IT=1 indeed seems to have fixed it. All I did was a firmware update, maybe the automation's (Home Assistant, or Vera) send rubbish during the upgrade. I'll remember to disable those next time. The burner stats are now showing again as well. Live is back to good :)

Could the situation be improved by changing the reference voltage? I tried setting 6, but that does not make a difference. Using level 7 does make a big difference, so I answered my own question!

Cheers Rene

As for the voltage reference, level 7 does indeed often help to improve the stability of the connection. It's good that you found a suitable solution.
