My first webcam... test it please...

Post by Digit »

Hi,
I just finished setting up my first experimental webcam.

It's a combination of BDLCAM and WebcamXP running on W2K3. You can find it at http://www.hekkers.net:800. Primary concern i have right now: do i need to upgrade my upstream or does it look ok?

Regards,
Robert.

PS.
Not 100% sure i configured my firewall right, so if it doesn't work, sorry....can't test that from 'the inside'.

It says contacting server, but no picture appears. I guess you have to open some more ports on your firewall.

It's working for me now, what a mess in the room :-)
When I came on the cam the backlight of the camera was on, don't use this standard (or somebody else put it on?)
Works good, the quality of the Sony evi-d30 cam is really good.
What is your upstream right now, for now with one user it looks sufficient.

Robert,
It's really time to install the water pulse meter you bought a long time ago :-) I also see a fire alarm sensor, a special Visonic PIR sensor, a xanura module, a marmitek module etc [:D]
Your room looks almost the same as mine, also a lot of stuff!

Beside that you need a java client, if you can install this on your PC or PDA etc it should run.

Your speed is good, 1024 upload is almost the highest speed you can get with ADSL.
I'm running on two of those ADSL lines, within a few months I get SDSL 2mb Up and Down with no overbooking :-)
Let's see how that is running.
