Perhaps an idea to moderate the first 5 posts or so, to avoid professional sellers to advertise their merchandise ....

Good point!
I'm a moderator on a big linux forum, and we are getting swampt with this FOR SALE brand new phone crap!
We also set the 1st 5 posts of a new user to "moderate" mode.

Not sure if this can be done on a 'Snitz Forum'

No luck on snitz but i'm preparing to go to PHPBB.
Moderators are able now to delete the spam and I can block Ip ranges
Spam is still not that much now but it's growning
