PowerMax Pro and XM10 not working
PowerMax Pro and XM10 not working
Hi all,
I know this question is one of the major issues with the PowerMax Pro and XM10. I have been searching for a solution on this forum but so far, no luck...
Anyway, I have a PowerMax Pro connected to a Marmitek XM10. When I try to switch the lights in the kitchen on (using an AW12 with address A1) nothing happens.
I also have a CM15Pro and when I switch on address A1 the light goes on. So my AW12 is working properly. Also, I bought a new XM10 because I thought it was defective. This made no difference...
Questions:
* How do I setup my PowerMax Pro so it can use the XM10? Jumper settings, menu settings, etc
* What type of cable do I have to use and what is the pin layout? I tried straight (1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4) and cross (1-4, 2-3, 3-2, 4-1) and neither one works.
Thanks for your answer!

The jumper mentioned is next to the battery compartment if I remember correctly.

Thanks for your quick reply!
I immediately tried the solution you provided... No luck however...
Maybe my crosscable isn't correct, it's 1-4, 2-3, 3-2, 4-1. Is this correct?
Also, because I only have a couple of 1-way AW12's I did set the communication to 1 way but this didn't help either...
So I hope it's a cable issue, otherwise I would like to know how I can check the signals the PowerMax Pro is sending out...

I just used the cross cable that came with the XM10. See you the red LED blinking when X10 signals are transferred on the power line, For instance initiated by an RF remote control?

PowerMax Pro and XM10 not working
You have a cm15pro. When ActiveHomePro is running, hit F2 and you will see all the X-10 trafic.
PowerMax Pro and XM10 not working
Thanks guys, for your sugestions!
I am aware of the F2 button in ActiveHomePro, but I don't see any traffic coming from my PowerMax Pro. This made me think that my XM10 was defective, so I bought another one. This gives me the same result.
Also, the link that Bwired provided says that a straight cable should be used. The link provided by rklootwijk says a cross cable has to be used. I guess this is where my confusion comes from [:)]. Maybe this is a difference between a PM+ and a PM Pro?
I will check for a red blinking LED today, haven't thought of that!
I am also looking for a possibility to check the X10 signals coming from my PowerMax Pro. Don't know how, but suggestions are welcome!

PowerMax Pro and XM10 not working
OK, update:
I connected both CM15Pro module and XM10 module to the mains. I switched some lights using the CM15Pro and indeed, the LED on the XM10 does blink. So the XM10 is definitely OK and the problem resides in the communication between the PMpro and the XM10.
Tomorrow I will try to set the PMpro to different jumper settings... I am now also trying to find the pin layout of the RJ-11 connectors...
Regards and thanks for your help!

PowerMax Pro and XM10 not working
Lennart visited me tonight so I did not have time to have a look. Now it is to late and I will wake the kids when I open up the Powermax. Sunday will be my next chance to have a look at the cable layout.

Rene,
Thanks for your efforts! And ehmmm, while you're at it, can you also check the jumper setting on the PM Pro??
Many thanks!

PowerMax Pro and XM10 not working
I checked the connection between my Powermax Pro and de MX10. It is a cross cable, there is a label on the cable that mentions cross and the pin layout is:
1-4
2-3
3-2
4-1
There a 5 pins just on the left of the RJ11 connector and the jumper is put on the 2 pins at the top.

Thanks a lot for checking Rene, I tried the same settings but... no luck. I'll try to find someone who has the PMPro as well and exchange cables... Maybe my PMPro is also defective.
Thanks for the help!

PowerMax Pro and XM10 not working
I have the Visonic Powermax Plus and the Marmitek XM10 and that cable is straight like mentioned in my link above.
So there is a difference between the two Powermax panels for sure.
