it only uses X10 to arm .. so if they have a RF => X10 receiver somewhere, somebody outside could easily disarm it (or am i thinking the wrong way?)

Good remark! You have to disable that X10 house code for RF receiving.

Visonic alarm, Homeseer and RFXCOM integration document

Hi,

I was a little mislead by the topic title. I thought it described a way to arm/disarm the Powermax by X10 commands, but it describes how to arm/disarm the RFXCom Alarm Panel.

I have this setup running in more-or-less the same way for some time now and it is working OK. It is working at least much better than triggering the Alarm Panel with the Keyfob status received by RFXCom (due to the well-known weak transmitting power of the keyfob and the lack of an amplifier circuit in the RFXCom receiver). I use it mainly for triggering events like central heater off, lamp control and redundant SMS message when an alarm is triggered, either by the Powermax through X10 or the RFXCom Visonic receiver.

My setup differs from the described method that I have the Powermax (Plus, not Pro version) send an X10 code for each system state of the Powermax: On for active, Off for inactive. So for Armed-away it would sens a command ON for armed away and an Off for disarmed, Pending, etc.

Now, for the tweaking from outside the house by RF => X10 to disarm the RFXCom Alarm Panel, this is not only true for RF, also for direct powerline X10 commands. When you have an power socket outside (many houses have them) or even just an outside lamp (an adapter for a lamp socket is easily made) one can send x10 commands with an CM10 or PMIX35 or equivalent. Fact is anyone wanting to disable the Alarm panel must a) know there is such an alarm panel (the RFXCom) and b) must know the X10 code to disarm or send all x10 codes OFF and hoping the Off command disarms the alarm panel (it could as well be activated by an Off command!)

So, all in all they have to have quite some knowledge of the configuration to disarm the Alarm Panel. And then you still have the Powermax in place as your main alarm panel that can't be disarmed by X10 commands. Or you have been so stupid to connect a keyfob to an IPpower that is then triggered by an X10 command through a script in Homeseer.

When I try to add the Alarm panel state I can only choose for Disarmed.
Can't see the Away and Home option.

It is not allowed to set the Alarm Panel State to Arm-Home or Arm-Away!

Read chapter 6 how to control the alarm panel http://www.rfxcom.com/documents/RFXCOM% ... 0Guide.pdf
