Post by nicobermejo »

Hello,

I have a VISONIC POWERMAX PRO and I am trying to do myself a cable in order to communicate with the software (between rs232 pc and powermax).

I would like to Know the pins fron the poermax pro panel:

After that I think I must connect with RS232 converter to TTl:

I think if I Know the pins in panel powermax, I could connect to pc.

Please, has someone experiencie on that? Do you think am I right?

dont you also need a small module installed in the powermax to even be able to communicate with it? Like on the picture below..

Thanks snelvuur,

I am trying to do myself this small module. This module is only for converter signal TTL --- RS232 (by RJ45).

With max232 I think I could the same but I need to Know the pins in the board:

+5v
GND
RX
TX

Thanks in advance

I see in other Topic:

Concerning the wiring-diagram, have a look at the MAX-232 datasheet. Looking at pictures of the PCB the circuit-board is a very standard TTL <--> RS-232 convertor.

Looking again at the PCB:

1: +5V
2: RX from PowerMax to external
3+4: TX/DTR from external to Powermax

All signals TTL level

Please could you confirm these pins in your small module with a multimeter?

Thanks
