Pop duwi switch association problems

Post by LostDreamer »

Hey all,

I recieved a few new pop duwi dimmer switches today, but even though I can associate them with my controller or other lights, my controller wont recieve the instant status notification when their the buttons are pressed. When I associate them with other zwave lights (from other brands) they do turn on / off together so they are sending.

I'm using the zcu201 controller for the PC (with housebot software) and the ZTH200 for adding them to the network.

Has anyone got a clue about this?

I think your notification goes to the wrong controller.

According to Denix on Micasaverde forum, notification only goes to 1 controller:

"So, if you have an in-wall controller which is associated with a light switch and shows its on/off state, toggling the switch or controlling it from this in-wall controller will update the controller's state immediately. While Vera will not be notified of the state change and need to poll the device. Now, when switching the light switch from Vera will send the state update notification back to Vera and the in-wall controller will not be updated."

From http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php? ... 2#msg11682

But thats just it, when i reset the plu, reintegrate in my network and then only associate with my controler it till doesnt work (eventhough this way of instant notification does work with my other brand zwave devices)

Is this just a limitation in the duwi models then?

These nodes do not send the status after changing them local, your controller has to poll status to see what it is.

Nodes like Qees Power do push it's status to the controller and doesn't need to be polled.
Take a look at our new webshop www.ezhome.nl

Hi ezhome, thanks for the answer.
I guess I dont have to look into it then anymore.

I'll put these in spots where only the pc will controll them then, this way I wont need local controll and it's status.
For the other lights I guess I'll go for the ZDW230's

Do I understand this correctly: The Düwi/popp wall switches and dimmers don't send their status change when activated locally ?
This is a real bummer as I'm now thinking of changing from x-10 to Zwave and it seems that I would have less functionality than my Xanura modules :(
I was just planning to buy one Düwi dimmer to test before ordering a dozen more, I'm glad I discovered this forum and this post, i guess.

So, back to browsing again I suppose...
What brand is known to send the status then ?
I don't want to fall back in the early days of the big clunky x10 inwall dimmers I had before the micro-modules....

Yves.
