question about Qees stuff...

Post by I-1 »

Hi,

I am currently in the process on rebuilding the attic ...
I need
- 5 new light points on the second floor
- 3 lightpoints on the third floor

All light points need to have an own lightswitch.

I want to make this with with Homeseer also ... and I am wondering what I need.
I think I want to use Qees stuff to achieve my goals.
What is also important is that the lightswitches are not build in but "OPBOUW" don't know the english word for this sorry...

Ik think I will need the following for Homeseer:
- Aeon Labs Z-Stick (http://www.ezhome.nl/z-wave-usb-control ... tick-p-242)
- some kind of Homeseerplugin that will work with the Aeon Labs Z-Stick

For the actual Qees stuff I think I will need:
- 5 x Qees Wall (S) (http://www.ezhome.nl/z-wave-remotes-c-9 ... ll-s-p-318) (if I am correct you can control 4 lightpoints with 1 Wall switch)

Now in order to use the above "remotes" I also need the receivers and this is where I get a bit confused...
What receivers do I need to use?

Or is the only thing that I need the Qees Dimmer? (http://www.ezhome.nl/z-wave-schakelaars ... mmer-p-299)

Thansk for now ...

The QEES dimmer is the only thing needed to control your light, if I understand your question right. :-)

To control 1 lamp you need a remote like QEES Wall and a dimmer/switch like QEES dimmer.

You can then chose to control the same light with Aeon stick and HomeSeer.

Qees wall(s) is very small 4x4cm You can control zwave modules but no events in Homeseer at the moment. This is Homeseer limitation.
In vera the Qees wall works fine for scene control.

Hi,

I am thinking of buying these ... Düwi stuff

- 5 x http://www.ezhome.nl/z-wave-schakelaars ... mmer-p-326
- 5 x http://www.ezhome.nl/z-wave-schakelaars ... nder-p-223
- 1 x http://www.ezhome.nl/z-wave-usb-control ... tick-p-242

Do you know if the Düwi products work well in Homeseer?

Yep, run just fine but do keep in mind that you need to poll the devices to set the correct status within homeseer if you switch locally. Events based on the status change will start after the polling interval.

Alexander,

how do you poll the switches?
I understand dat if you want to control stuff based on events you need to know the status.
How frequent are your lights polled?
And do you have any problems with this i
together with homeseer?

Iwan,

If you configure a Zwave interface and add a zwave device (type) you can configure some settings purely for zwave devices. One of those settings is the polling interval. Homeseer does this automatically and just poll the device as configured. I've configured 5 seconds. Did had this on 1 second, but the CPU usage did go up to not wanted value. So if i press my screenbutton to lower my projection screen, my curtains will close after 5 seconds (based on the HS event status change trigger).

oh btw, you don't need an extra plugin for zwave. is build-in the system.
