Homeseer and Vera2 box in a zwave network

Hi,

Does anybody know if it's possible to use Homeseer as primary and the Vera2 box as secondary zwave controller?
I use HS 2.5 and Vera2 ui4. Or is possible the other way around Vera2 box as primary and HS as secondary?
I use an Aeon-labs zwave stick v2 for HS.
I cannot find the option to add an controller in the Vera2 for ui4, there is some documentation for ui3, but not for ui4.

Regards,

Frank

Hi Frank.

I have a HS2 as secondary to my Innovus House Control (only had it for a week.). Hence I expect it to work with Vera too.

In Vera 1.1.1047 it should be Add/remove devices - Z-Wave - Add Vera to another Z-Wave network.

In HomeSeer Setup - Interfaces - Manage (on Aeon stick) - Replicate Send, I Think.

But Tane properly know a lot more about this. :-)

Regards
Morten

P.s It's not working great, but it's working. :-)

This can be done for sure.

You will need to have two Aeonlabs stick. (Vera 1)

In Homeseer:
Tools/zwave manager/replicate receive
The USB stick in Homeseer will be then the secondary controller (all the data on the Homeseer Stick will be lost)
At the samen moment just transfer the data from the vera or the other Aeon stick.

My case:
Merten software for building the network using Merten PC interface.
Merten 1-Gang wall remote is the primary controller
Aeon-Labs Stick in Homeseer is Secondary controller
Nevo S70 Secondary controller.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the quick response!

Morten I don't see this option in my Vera 2 box, i'm running firmware 1.1.1047.
Is the image from a vera 1 or 2 box?
If i start the add devices wizard i only have two options, see my screendumps, but no option to add a controller.

Tane, do you mean I have to buy an extra Aeonlabs stick and use this as external interface on my Vera2 box, because the Vera2 box has a build in zwave interface?

I just found out that I have another problem the zwave signal from my HS server with Aeonlabs stick in the attic cannot reach my Vera2 box and other devices in my livingroom, i'll have to buy some more devices :) in between i think..
I'll buy them this week and give it I try next week again.

Regards,

Frank

For the vera 2 is no need for extra usb stick. Just set the zwave transfer mode on. Vera one just push the Aeon button and receive mode on the hs server.

Hi Frank.

It's from Vera 1, but it should be the same.

Push "Dashboard" in upper right corner.

Push Add/Remove Devices (the +! button see screen dump.)

Find Z-wave and push next.

Scroll down. At the bottom you will find controllers. (The above screen dump)

Hi Guys,

Thanks a lot, I totally missed that little button
Now HS and Vera2 see each other, but it does not work yet.
I configured HS as primary and Vera2 as secondary, in HS the devices work.
Vera2 received 3 devices and a scene controller, but after that they cannot communicate with each other, see screendump.

In the HS log it get an Z-wave warning:

4-12-2010 20:19:14 - Device Control - Device: Z-Wave Z-Wave Interface Z-Wave Dimmer Switch (Q3) ON

I tried the other way around Vera2 primary and HS secondary but this also gives a Z-wave security warning and it also does not work.
Does somebody know how to resolve this?

Regards,

Frank

My House Control tell me, that it has an fault on HomeSeer. Thats not a real problem. I can still control my devices with HomeSeer.

So if you can control your dimmers, I don't think it is going to be much better.

I have not had any luck with HomeSeer and my remotes. But that seems to be a general problem with HomeSeer. Hence my House Control is the primary and setup the remotes, my HomeSeer is "just another remote".

The "Unable ...." error properly can be fixed with waiting or rescan of devices.

Morten
