rfxmitter antenna range

Post by labium »

the antenna of the rfxmitter 433 is a littlebit little, i understand because of the regulations, but the range is not so big , can i extend that with a little bit extra copper wiring of 30 cm ? the best results of the antennas are vertically ?

i swa the discussion with the extreme antenna from conrad, but a littebit less space consuming alternative should also work well ?

That's not a good idea.
The lenght of the antenna is as longs on wavelenhgth of the signal will fit into it. (or a half or a quarter)
So for 433mhz the wire lenght must be about 17 cm (from the top of my head) If to long then you get lots of energy losses or even harmonic distortion.
Just google on antenna lenght calculation for more details about this mater

The wire antenna with the antenna circuit in the transmitter is tuned for 433.92MHz and a longer antenna wire will not give a better result.
The transmitter is certified with this wire antenna. The use of another antenna is in fact not legal but the 89001 telescopic antenna will give a bit better (~30%) performance. This is also true when connecting the Conrad ground plane.
