I came across an old News item but it does worry me quite a bit.
This article is about making a masterkey for any mechanical lock.
It is an old item from 5 years ago but it is good advertisement for electronic locks.
(I used the search to see if it was already on the forum but it wasn't.)
Any domotica solutions to have prove that somebody used these keys to empty your house without leaving a trace?

I belive that is would be rather hard to empty your house without you noticing it.JayBee wrote:Any domotica solutions to have prove that somebody used these keys to empty your house without leaving a trace?
But seriously talking, I suddenly do feel urgent need to the key that does use cryptography instead of mechanics.
Thanks for sharing this!

This has been head line News 5 years ago. Since then never heard of it again. So I do not think you should panic.

This technique works for most older and cheap Gamma type locks. Many large brands have measures against this type of lockpicking since a few years. The best way is to buy a lock which uses proprietary base keys which have to be ordered separately by a locksmith.
Keep away from cheap locks, buy a decent brand.
For those who think dimplelocks are the perfect solution... think again. A $30 lockpicking kit speciallized for dimplelocks is almost as effective as bumpkeys.
