Yes...If you start receiving messed up data, you know what to do :D
But we are thinking the same, I already searched for a geigercounter with RS232 myself, expensive and mostly sold out!

There's a few geiger counters available on ebay..

http://shop.ebay.nl/i.html?_nkw=DRSB-01 ... m270.l1313

Prices are high right now.. and it needs some DIY.. but take care of the high voltages.

Yeah.... but I have some demands
No USB
Need to have an external sensor for putting outside (guess is more aqurate)
Easy way to connect

The Sparkfun looks nice, except for USB :( , but that can be changed not to hard (ttl, atmega)
•5V@30mA input
•LND712 Geiger tube
•ATMega328
•FTDI USB
•Power and status LEDs
•TTL output pin from tube

This looks like fun to see what is passing by my house the next couple of years...
You could be suprised :)

Question, are the Gamma radiation direction sensitive, because the geiger tube looks a direction senssitive way to measure the gamma radiation.
