Z-wave on-the-wall ('opbouw') switch available?

Post by olof »

Does anybody happen to know whether Z-wave Electrical power switches & sockets exists which go ON the wall ('opbouw' in Dutch) instead of the standard IN the wall power sockets('inbouw')?

Z-wave alternative for something like this: aurora-kontakt.nl/elektra_opbouw_schake ... riaal.html

Reason, my garden shed has ON-the-wall switches and sockets which I would like to replace with Z-wave substitutes. The wall thickness of the shed is too thin to allow standard IN-the-wall solutions.

Any tips/tricks much appreciated!

Thanks in advance
Olof

I have been looking for a 'opbouwrand' for quite some time. I couldn't find it. Now i decided to use gira basic 25 material for this. A pulse switch in combination with a (instead of duwi) fibaro switch.

I only need one and gira looks quite a lot like duwi. So this was a good option for me.

I was afraid there isn't (yet) a Z-wave solution.

If fibaro fits into the standard Gira stuff, that will be the way to go.
Thanks

I really dont understand that a problem is.
Merten have this Surface mount 1-gang wall box Merten - 512119: http://www.tge-online.de/tgeshop/instal ... 12119.html
On course they have also in 2x and 3x format.
Probably Duewi or Busch-Jaeger also have some Surface mount boxes that can be used...

@hkmod25 I think the problem is that preferably you want a nice fit. And since duwi doesn't have this 'opbouwrand' you need a nice and fitting solution.

I am a real pain if it comes to details. It would annoy me if i used a opbouwrand and every day I have to look at a small edge/gap that doesn't fit. Therefore i choose to use a different solution.

For my garage i need a new opbouwrand as well. I'll order the opbouwrand enver posted an post some pictures of the way it fits. So people who look dor this as well have a idea how this looks.

As I said before, if you will not use Merten brand, Bush-Jaeger can be also an option.
You just take this one: http://www.busch-jaeger-catalogue.com/i ... t=53347672
or this one: http://www.busch-jaeger-catalogue.com/i ... t=53347777

and Duewi dimmer in the Duro 2000 design: http://store.zwaveeurope.com/product_in ... a6ce234db0
or Switch in the same design: http://store.zwaveeurope.com/product_in ... a6ce234db0

Of course you can try to search Busch-Jaeger WEB site with: "Busch-Duro 2000 surface box" (Full-text option) :)

Did you miss my post?? If you clicked the link you would have seen that there is a perfect fitting option for Duwi in the form of berker m2 material, including the opbouwbox. The last one was under my link. :D
