energy consumption of a Fritzbox
Does anyone know what the energy consumption is of a Fritzbox 7170?

Heb net even gekeken naar de plugwise staatjes; helaas heb ik de Fritz!Box niet los. De Fritz!Box gecombineerd met een Gigabit 24 poorts switch en een Synology NAS verstookt zo'n 40 watt continue.

Re: energy consumption of a Fritzbox
I used to have a 7170, on average it used about 6 watt in the period between 1-1-2011 and 1-6-2011.

Re: energy consumption of a Fritzbox
This morning I installed my first Plugwise modules and for you I tested it first with my Fritzbox.
I've a Fritzbox 7360 and WLAN and DECT are not active.
In idle mode the use is 6 Watt.
When I make an outgoing call it's 7 Watt.

Thanks, Rutger.
That's very kind of you to do the testing.

Thanks for this info.

Re: energy consumption of a Fritzbox
a FB 7390 with WIFI and DECT anabled is doing here a 8.8 watt.
Re: energy consumption of a Fritzbox
Thanks all for this, for me, important info.
Running a Fritzbox will cost me between 38 and 45Kw per year. I find this a slightly high value for just having a caller id in my system. For now i don't see any other thing that a Fritzbox can add to justify the energy consumption.

Re: energy consumption of a Fritzbox
Maybe you could use the Fritz as a Wifi AP with free caller id?

Re: energy consumption of a Fritzbox
I have already an AP + router (Sitecom Gigabit 300N) in my network so do you mean replacing that one for a Fritzbox?Maybe you could use the Fritz as a Wifi AP with free caller id?

Re: energy consumption of a Fritzbox
Well, that's what I did a couple of years ago - swap an old WAP54G for the Fritz WLAN.
But in your situation I guess that Fritz WLAN speed < 300N speed...

Re: energy consumption of a Fritzbox
I also did just that. Am on Telfort internet and the Fritz!Box works just fine as a modem for that. Did replace the 7170 with a 7390 tho because the gigabit ports and faster WiFi.AshaiRey wrote:I have already an AP + router (Sitecom Gigabit 300N) in my network so do you mean replacing that one for a Fritzbox?Maybe you could use the Fritz as a Wifi AP with free caller id?
Upgraded my Telfort internet connection and cannot get the Fritz!Box to work since then. Need a little more time to find out why....
