RFXcom Transmitter USB

Post by labtec »

Today I connect an RF Transimitter to my USB port, It seems to work fine on com5 (receiver is on com3).
I can test the transmitter with the RFtransmitter program, how can I test more of the possibilities of the
transmitter? on what way can I see the transmitter in HS? when I want to use i.e. an KAKU unit how can I configure
this device in HS?

So how can I check if the transmitters sends signals?

did you connect the handshake cable?

To test:
start RFreceiver in RFXCOM mode,
start RFXmitter (or RFtransmitter depending on the transmitter type) and clcik the button to connect without receiver.
All transmitted RF command are visible in RFreceiver.
The red LED should blink on the transmitter if you send a command.

See the Quick start Homeseer.pdf how to configure the transmitter.

Ok, what about the handshake cable? the transmitter is not a new one, I don't have a handshake cable :-(

I connect the receiver via a USB cable and also the transmitter via a USB cable. There are no other
connectors to plug-in a handshake cable?
