Re: A nightmare came true

Balen!

Re: Control Intercom system

There are several devices to handle this, to switch the system (open the door) you need a isolated contact (relay). It seems for example this device has a "potentiaal vrij" contact, which is what you need: http://www.ezhome.nl/duwi-z-wave-zonweringschakelaar.html Will you omit local handli...

Re: usb to serial

I don't think such a thing exists. Reason is that you go from a high speed bandwidth to a lower speed bandwidth.
What you could try is to solder some wires in your Plugwise stick/z-wave stick just before the serial to usb converter chip. This does require some solder skills though.

Re: Raspberry Pi; Take a byte!, An ARM GNU/Linux box for $25

Really cool device, been waiting for this one for quite a while.
Hopefully it will get released by the end of this month.

It would be the ultimate device for my HouseAgent software.

Re: Control my Heating system

If it's a simple on/off thermostat, the Horstmann HRT4-ZW thermostat might be an option.
Have a look at my blog for more info: http://www.maartendamen.com/tag/thermostat/

Re: Aeon Labs Z-Stick S2 and vmware

I use the same setup (also ESXi 5) several interfaces connected (USB)
Works fine, however when you unplug the z-stick you might see problems and have to disconnect/reconnect the stick.
