Vista Gadget for domoticaforum.eu / Bwired forum

Post by Noel »

I had some time to kill, so I made this small Vista Gadget for the Bwired forum.
Maybe it's of some use to some users here?

Image

You can download the Gadget here:
LINK REMOVED AS THIS GADGET WAS NOT WORKING 100%

To install it you will need to 1st unzip the file, and place all the contents in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets
Make sure that you name the map Domotica-forum.gadget.
( so you should endup with this: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\Domotica-forum.gadget )

It could be possible that you do not see these maps as they are normally hidden. If so, you will need to unhide the map(s) 1st.

I have also created an installer for it (use at your own risk)
You can download the installer here: LINK REMOVED AS IT WAS NOT WORKING 100%

Once done, you will still need to add the gadget to you sidebar.
--------------

I'm working on version 2 what WILL (should) work 100%

Looks like it can not access the RSS feed.
Can you see: rss.asp okay in your web browser?

Also make sure all the files and folders from the ZIP are in: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\Domotica-forum.gadget

Hmm I guess I need to have a look at the code again as people are having problems with it.

The only problem is that I can not reproduce this error :(

@ drmacchi.
The path that you are using will for sure not work!
You WILL need to install it in the path "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets"
Replace %username% with your Windows Vista user name.
If you can not see this path, you will need to set "show hidden files"

Wifi, how about my path being C:\<b>Gebruikers</b>\Robert\... since it's a NL version?
I thought that would be okay...

Not sure Digit.
I only have an English version of Vista.
It should be in the same path as all the other "Windows Sidebar > Gadgets" map.

Then it is okay, since that is where all my other gadgets are located to.

It works.
I don't see the new posts on the forum in your gadget.
