CTX35 Stoped working, is oke now!!

Post by Paul H te O »

Hallo all,

I'm ussing a CTX35 for a month now, it worked fine.
But the leds are stopped blinking and it doesn't recieve any commands any more!!
I still can sent a command from homeseer that still work's, but the CTX35 doesn't sent commands from the power-net to homeseer.

When I restart homeseer and sent 1 on/off command the CTX start working again but only for a short time.

I have installed the latest driver 2.0.0.2 ACT TI103, and but the bitrate of the com port on 19.200 bits.

Who knows what the problem maybe or is the CTX35 broken?

Regards Paul.

Hello Chak,

I have thought about that but the strange thing is that when the led's doesn't blink, I can control a unit on and off with homeseer.

i would try out chak's idea, with another pc if possible. dont know how far off your devices are from the ctx35, meaning that "sending" to it is possible by reach, but that the device on the other side is too far away. (i think you know what i mean)

anyway make sure you have the device close near your power distribution of the ctx35, just to be sure.

My TM13 is in the same power plug as teh ctx35, so it must be close enough.
And leds has to blinck all the time even when there are no X10 command's to recieve if I'm sure.
And I have no other PC to test the ctx35 on.

Hyperterminal is a terminal program which you can use to connect directly to the interface using a serial connection. It's a standard Windows program.
Com5 is not a problem, you can select all the com-ports on your system in hyperterminal.
This product documentation lists some direct commands you can issue:

Thanks Maarten!
The comports are no problem, I have like 13 comports available all my software is working on those ports.
But check your driver which comports it supports, for defect testing it's best to put it on 1.
With hyperterminal you can send some textcommands to the CTX35 for example "$>2800008C#"
And yes the CTX35 is not event driven, it needs to be polled for data so the led should blink depending on polling frequency.

Hi, like in other post, i use a serial server . My ctx35 is connected to serial server trough rs232 and serial server is connected to hub-lan.
software of serial server will create a logical com port in every pc that is connected to the lan.

Paul,
A Serial to LAN converter makes you very flexible. Every device (a CTX35 for example) is addressable with an IP address. You should really consider this option.

Paul,

Wait, wait... you're going to use to CTX35 in combination with Homeseer, right?
So you did make sure the device server you bought has software that will create a Virtual Com Port on the PC?
Cause Homeseer cannot talk to a CTX35 by TCP/IP, or does it?
IIRC the EZL-200F doesn't come with software that creates a VCP, while others like the Lavalink (http://www.lavalink.com/index.php?id=257) do!
