Toon app: rotating through tiles, automatically

Hello,

I started testing the rotating app, it looks really nice!.

I deleted all the tiles on all the screens, except 3, so i was thinking only these 3 tiles will show up when rotating.
But also tiles, wich i don't have on the screens is showing up rotating.

Is there somewhere configurable wich tiles to show up when rotating?

Hi,

the good old rotating tiles mod for firmware 4.11.6.
Changelog compared to earlier versions:
- your rotation mode is now saved and used again after a restart
- Icons from Emacee used (using system colors)

Installation notes:
The following homescreen mod gives you the ability to automatically rotate tiles on the first page of the homescreens in 4 ways:
0: no rotation, behaviour as normal
1: rotate only the right bottom tile and leave the other three untouched (both normal and dim state)
2: rotate the bottom two tiles and leave the upper two untouched (both normal and dim state)
3: rotate the whole homescreen. In this case no tile configuration is changed, merely the next homepage is selected every x seconds (only in dim state)

I personally prefer option 3, just make sure you put the tiles you want to be visible all the time on each homepage.

You can change the behaviour 'on the fly' by clicking on the new icon just right of the '>' page selector at the bottom.
The small number in the icon represent the rotation mode above.
Default value is 0 (no rotation).

Installation:
- rename the folder homescreen in qmf/qml/apps/ to homescreen_backup or whatever name you want
- unzip the attachment for firmware 4.11.6 and copy the folder homescreen to qmf/qml/apps/
(other versions for earlier firmwares posted earlier in this thread)
- restart the gui

Important notes:
- only tiles which are visible in any homepage at the start of qt-gui will be included in the rotation. If you want to include newer tiles as well my advice is to stop rotation (setting 0) first, finish your homescreen/tile layout and restart the gui.
- rotation will only start 3 minutes after completing the loading of the homepage to wait for the initial initialisation of the tiles at startup


EDIT: This Homescreen mod version can also be used for firmware 4.10.6. The Homescreen app hasn't been updated in 4.11.6

Hi, all tiles which were visible during startup of Toon are included in the rotation.
If you want to change the layout follow these steps:
- select rotation mode 0 (no rotation)
- complete your homescreen layout, place tiles where you want them
- restart the gui
After restart you can change the rotation mode to your liking

Today my toon wasn't reacting on the Touchscreen.

But it was still busy.
SSH into it and found this. and did $ TOP

pretty high cpu load on the GT-Gui

has that maybe something to do with the Rotating tiles?

Gui Rebooted...after that, i couldn't SSH into it anymore

Took Toon of the wall...and put it back on. Now it works again.

Was looking in the LOGS; but nothing special in there.

Rtt App is running at fw 4.7.23, i experience that when i replace the mapp (homescreen) original with the modified homescreen map that i could not update my toonstore to version to version 8.3.3 white modified homescreen map, the store screen told after installing that there was still update i had to go back and use the original homesreen map which i renamed to a backup, then could i update Toonstore to 8.3.3 , then i replaced the maps again to benefit the rtt app, if i may suggest is it a idea to make a selection of favorites tiles, i use now preset 1 is the right under tile, now i see tiles dubble and see tiles that i do not want to see, so i want to suggest of there is a possibility to choose out of favorites tiles and these scroll in the rtt app, this will be a great mod.

uhhmm, I don't believe I ever created this for fw 4.7.23 or did you apply the mod manually to your homescreen app?

Yes, i have it manually replace those maps, and this works!

Typically you can restore the old status by simply putting back your old homescreen app.
But which firmware are you on? Did you unzip the homescreen app including subfolders for your firmware version?
Can you share a list with files in the .../apps/homescreen/ folder?

This is the homescreen mod for firmware 4.11.6, that's why the zipfile is called "homescreen_mod_rotating_tiles_fw_4.11.6.zip".
You should use the correct version for your firmware a few posts back: domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=87& ... =15#p84007
